Listen, I know that people are burning a hole in the internet with Michael Jackson posts but I have to say one thing. It cannot be denied that the man was a musical genius. Forget about his personal struggles, his mysterious transcendence into a white man, calling his child Blanket, the Macaulay Culkin rap in the Black or White video, the clothes, the glove, etc etc etc. FORGET ALL OF THAT SHIT because what is most important is his music. It has stood the test of time along with their accompanying music videos, some of which I think can be considered short films.
Thriller is my favorite long form music video by Michael Jackson. It is not only the “greatest selling album of all time” but it is also written in my baby book as my favorite song. Not sure how my mom decided that I liked Thriller while kicking around inside of her but hey, I like it. I remember seeing the video for the first time and being so scared yet so in love with every second of it. I then watched it over and over and trying to learn the zombie dance moves (Sadly, I never did). And remember Vincent Price’s creepy ominous narration and cackle. Ugh, Amazing.
