Regina and Samantha are your typical sisters. “Reggie” (played by a poor man’s long faced version of Brooke Shields) is a slutty tomboy and Samantha is the dim blond cheerleader. On the fateful eve of a comet, everyone is going bananas throwing BBQs and buying shiny silver things to throw and/or wave on TV. The girls decide to ignore the festivities and stay inside for the night. Best decision they’ve ever made!? The next day the whole world is dead, the comet turned everyone into paprika and some who survived are zombies.
Finally, they accept the fact that they’re the last girls on earth and do what they should have done hours before: Try on awesome gear at the abandoned mall!? DUH. This scene is pretty glorious and even has a cover version of “Girls Just wanna have fun” playing in the background. Sucks that It’s cut a little short when the disgruntled stock boys turned zombie punk gang get a hold of them. My money was originally on the zombies but we soon find out though that these girls can hold there own. Why? Their military father made them tough and because they don’t have a mom. Everyone in teen movies has a missing or dead parent, it’s pretty much a script prerequisite.
